Western digital has announced that they have restarted hard drive production on November 30th in its Bang Pa-in location. However, other HDD facilities in Navanakorn remain 2 feet underwater but there are plans for it to be pumped dry this week at which point decontamination and refurbishment will begin. WD believes that supply constraints will continue into the March quarter and beyond. In regards to WD’s acquisition of Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (HGST), the transaction is expected to close by March 2012.
